It worked like this until about a week ago, and then it changed. Change it back!
If you are switching weapons in combat you are normally switching between your main and your secondary weapon. Especially if you are using a Sniper Riffle or Laser Riffle and someone gets close, or you are under fire and you have run out of amo. In these situations you need to switch weapons quickly and consistently. It is a matter of life and death!
You normally do not switch to a Nano Hive, Drop Uplink, or Nanite Injector when you are under fire. You look for cover to do this. You can afford the little extra time and effort required to hold down the button and select what you want to switch to.
If your suit does not have a secondary weapon slot, then the one tap should switch to your first equipment slot, so you can decide what takes priority by what you place in that slot. |

Darn, if it is just me, then it is unlikely to be fixed. Every time I just tap R2 I get the Nano Hive instead of my Submachine Gun.
I think my suggestion to have it switch to the first equipment slot when there is not secondary weapon is good though. Do I remember correctly that Logi suits donGÇÖt have a secondary weapon slot? This makes the mechanics of setting up the default for the one tap switch easier. Just make it go to the farthest left (closest to the weapon) equipment slot. Let the Logi decide what to put in that slot. |

It looks like I was just pulling the trigger too hard. I thought that pushing the button once changed weapons and holding the button allowed you to change to equipment. It is actually related to how hard you pull the trigger apparently.
It is going to take some practice to learn to tap the button lightly when I have someone shooting at my in CQC, because frankly, that is the situation 90% of the time when I need to change weapons.
Now something for Logi to try: If you pull the button hard and let go, do you consistently switch to the same equipment slot? Because when I pull the button hard without moving the stick I always get whatever is in my equipment slot. (I run Assault suit.) |
